Experimenting with the texture brush...

Haven't posted for quiet a while since it was a busy period, here are some studies made recently using variations of the texture brush being used on the previous studies.

Another horrible earthquake at the Philippines...

Earlier, everyone was shock here at the Philippines, especially in the areas of Bohol, Cebu, Negros and other places in the Visayas, including Luzon and Mindanao because an earthquake strike approximately in the morning, this day. It was in the news and everyone knows already including places and countries outside Philippines. It was also announced that there are no duties and the place here at Cebu is now declared under the state of calamity. The quake strongly affected Bohol since it was the epicenter, but the trembling and after shocks can be felt here at Cebu making everyone alert. While hearing and watching the news on TV, at spare time, took some piece for another study and this time it's Bonnie Wright from Harry Potter Film Series. This will be a member of the 4th session of the Grayscale Value and Tone Studies. Below are 2 screenshot of the direct process:

This is not yet done and if the monkey will not be lazy and things will get back to normal, maybe this will be completed.

New t-shirt designs accepted at Designbyhumans, DBH Daily Contest...

Just for fun, thought it would be possible to edit some pieces from the portfolio and make them into a t-shirt design. Submitted three designs and the first one got rejected and it needs revision, it was accepted after that and created another one. Here are the designs below:

And here's an upcoming design done, the first one was sent already and maybe it will be accepted too. It's about dogs, below is the design:

The start of grayscale value & tone studies..

Recently started a new idea to study more on digital painting focusing only on black and white color values. This time, it is direct and quick compared to the only method used that starts with rough sketches, line art then putting in the values and tones of shades of black and gray, with white as the lighting value. As observed it is an effective method when there's image references and the study is fun and becoming intense since there was really changes in judging the right thickness of the shades and white source of light. There's also this new brush that separates itself from the drawing and painting brushes commonly used during the previous studies. The only factor needed to consider is that, this kind of thing should be done at home, never at the working area since it is bad, haha! Since freelance was stopped already, there's plenty of time to continue this one. Glad to share 2 sessions of the study here, hope you like them guys!

Entry for the Scribblenauts Unmasked Contest on Deviantart, but was late for the deadline...

Created a concept and then started the digital painting in order to submit and join the contest on deviantart, the Scribblenauts Unmasked Contest. The theme of the contest was very cute since scribblenauts is a game with cute big face characters, haha. The sad thing is, the submission was late and can no longer enter the contest. Careless about the time since it was indicated that the deadline is October 2, 2013, 11:59:59 PM (Pacific Time). Here at the Philippines, thought the deadline will be on October 3 at midnight, but it was never that way, hahaha. But still it was fun making something for the contest, now, this artwork will become a fan art for the game. Here are some screenshots on the processes.
