The name was supposed to be "Star Patriot" for threadless.com Captain America contest...

For the time being, digital painting study sessions was quietly left behind. It was a busy period recently from here and at the province, many things needed to be put into consideration first. It occurred on a facebook feed that there is a contest on Threadless, the Captain America t-shirt design contest and decided to join this one in order to feel another excitement like the contest that happened a few months ago on Designbyhumans and also to gain more learning and experience.

Here are some of the processes done:

This is the first marvel character ever created and for some reason, the technique in inking black on making shades is interesting and at the start it takes a lot of time but again, when you layered all the things needed to be done the time will be minimized. This is really a fun artwork practice, since the methods used in this one is different from the previous studies and a new possible arrangement was planned first and it turned out to be effective. The colors used in this one were 5 colors, that means during color separation there are 4 colors on for the print since the one color will be on the tee itself, this case the navy is the tee color, hope it looks cool on it. The references from this one where mostly from watching Jim Lee's and Tim Townsend's artwork, they inspire a lot, there line art and exaggerated perfect anatomy on muscles is astonishing. They are masters on their field!

Below is the one submitted on threadless, this is still under review according to the automatic reply on gmail after submission, hope this one will get through but no matter what, it's worth a shot!
